How Do I Track Changes Made to My Website?

Jamie Hoyle

With the new SEC Marketing Rule coming into force in November, keeping a regular archive of your website is now more important than ever. MirrorWeb customers across the globe from financial services firms to G7 nations trust MirrorWeb to capture their website content. However, having a website review process is a great way to spot compliance issues early and prove that you’re monitoring all of your communications.

Website change reporting has historically been complex and prone to error. Some change comparison tools take screenshots of your website and compare the two images. This means that any styling or image change causes your compliance team unnecessary work. Alternatively, some products show you every change in the website’s code, giving your teams complex reports and no context of what your website looks like.

Web Changes is a new product from MirrorWeb that allows you to compare text content on your website on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. This means that you only get alerted for changes in content such as disclaimers and blog posts. This reduces false positives, in turn reducing the number of alerts that get sent to you or your team.

If changes are detected on your website, you'll receive an email with the changed URLs, the number of changes that have been made, and a link to view a more in-depth comparison. With this comparison, you can quickly see what's changed and take action accordingly.

Web Changes also integrates directly with our dynamic web archiving product, so you can be sure that all changes to your website are being captured and reviewed. Combined, MirrorWeb's products can save you time, money, and effort in your compliance efforts, and allows your team to respond to the compliance issues that matter.
