Problem

Kainos approached MirrorWeb following multiple poor experiences with their previous supplier's support team. Kainos wanted to ensure they were prepared for an audit at a moment’s notice, and weren’t confident they had that ability. They also required MirrorWeb to show any changes made to their website in the previous 24 hours. This was a fundamental requirement, and the reports supplied by their previous vendor were fraught with errors, leading to Kainos having to constantly check the archives and their live site.

Solution

MirrorWeb began an onboarding process whereby we tested captures of Kainos' website overnight, to ensure there were no changes being made while MirrorWeb crawled. We also introduced a change email, derived from the logs and reports that our technology creates after each crawl. Using these logs, we were able to compare the archive from the previous day and extract any changes made to the site. These results are then sent via email on a daily basis even if no changes have been made, as that is just as important for Kainos to understand.

Result

Today, MirrorWeb successfully works with Kainos Capital capturing, storing and indexing their archives for search and replay. Kainos now receives a daily change report which not only outlines what HTML has changed on their site, but also gives them a visual of the change, using heat mapping so they can understand the location of changes on their site.
