The Role

This is no traditional software testing role. You will be working in the QA team for one of our products which specifically captures all the elements of a live website or social channel to create a digital archive. Being part of a close-knit team, you will be responsible for verifying huge archived websites and numerous social channels which can range from public sector, through to financial organisations, as well as broadcast media.

As well as quality assurance, your role will also require troubleshooting and resolving issues; this can involve looking into web links or HTML code. You are not required to have a technical background; just an eye for detail, an analytical and investigative mindset. There is huge scope to gain lots of technical exposure in this role, and as we grow, potential opportunities to progress into software development, service delivery, or something similar in a technical capacity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all the websites and social channels we capture are an exact replica of the live version;
  • Working through logs, checking for error codes, ensuring that all links are being captured.
  • Using tools as well as manual verification to identify whether there are any broken links, missing visuals/media, or whether any data hasn’t been captured in the archived version.
  • Troubleshooting and patching – deep investigation into the website e.g. if there are missing elements – find the links, investigate the HTML code, find the root cause of the issues, resolve them.
  • Working on QA for big client projects, as well as prospects and sales demonstrations.
  • Work closely with the QA Manager, Service Delivery Manager, Key Account Manager and Development Team.

Key Skills Required

  • Strong eye for detail; meticulous and thorough in nature.
  • Good at problem solving, driven to find the root cause and understand why issues are occurring.
  • Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical people.
  • A technical background is not essential, but would be advantageous.
  • Any knowledge or experience with HTML, CSS would also be beneficial.
